Most of us live in two rooms that aren't really here — one full of what already happened, the other full of what hasn't happened yet. We replay the past. We plan the future. It feels useful, even necessary. But every time we leave this moment to fix something, improve something, or prepare for something, we quietly tell ourselves: this isn't enough. Something is missing. I could have done better.

Over time, that quiet message becomes a habit — a soft hum of not-quite-here, running underneath a life that is actually full and good. But the truth is simple: the most powerful moment you have is the one you're in right now. Not because the past doesn't matter, or because you shouldn't plan ahead — but because this moment is the only place life is actually happening. It's the only place you can actually feel it

This week's practice

Turning Within

  1. Take a moment to pause, even just a few seconds. You don't need to stop what you're doing.

  2. Breathe in slowly, then breathe out slowly — a little longer than the inhale.

  3. Say to yourself, silently or aloud: “I am exactly where I need to be in this moment. There is nowhere to go.

  4. Feel your body. Notice it's already working for you — your heart beating, your lungs filling, everything happening quietly on its own. You don't have to do a thing.

  5. Stay there a little longer. No goal, no list — just the simple feeling of being alive.

Bring it into your day

  • The moment you wake up, before you even get out of bed — pause. Feel what it's like to simply be alive, before your to-do list shows up.

  • On a walk or a bike ride, let the ride itself be the point, not how far you go or where you end up.

  • Washing the dishes, making your coffee, getting dressed — pick one this week and just be there for it. Hands only. Breath only.

You don't have to earn this moment.
You're already standing in it.

With love,
— Gosia
